Product Specialist / Project Coordinator


Dakota Playground is seeking a full-time Product Specialist / Project Coordinator for its Fargo, North Dakota office. The Product Specialist aspect of the role involves inside sales, purchasing, logistics, and creative marketing. The Project Coordinator aspect of the role involves scheduling and coordinating construction crews and associated resources in order to meet committed completion dates within the project budget. This position will work with and direct the Sales Administrator and assist the field sales personnel. The successful candidate will have a desire to win and develop new business with a personal touch while creating a positive customer experience.

The principal job duties of this position are to:

  • Develop techniques that generate and increase the sales of a defined list of products.

  • Prepare and submit quotes and other relevant information in a timely manner.

  • Attend various sales meetings and conferences.

  • Keep current with all product lines, standards, competitive intelligence, and industry-

    related news.

  • Keep management informed of market changes.

  • Assist in the development of sales forecasts for various products.

  • Assist in the creation and execution of marketing efforts.

  • Coordinate playground installations, schedule crews and related resources, request utility

    locates, and order necessary materials in order to meet committed completion dates within

    project budgets.

  • Attend weekly coordinator meetings.

  • Various administrative functions utilizing Vista ERP software system, Excel spreadsheets,

    Word documents and other software systems as necessary.

  • Observe, assist, and direct the Sales Administrator.

  • Assist field sales personnel as requested to optimize team performance.


  • Excellent oral, written and electronic communication skills and ability to produce professional proposals.

  • Solid business acumen and numerical skills, well organized, high attention to detail, and ability to learn new products quickly.

  • Strong computer skills. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required. Microsoft Publisher, Google Earth, and AutoCAD would be helpful.

  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) computer system experience would be helpful.

  • Construction or related industry knowledge and experience preferred, including a general

    understanding of project plans and specs.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
