Sales Specialist – Fargo, ND

The Sales Specialist position is responsible to seek out, coordinate, and follow through on opportunities to grow sales both within and outside of our region.

Summary:

The Sales Specialist position is responsible to seek out, coordinate, and follow through on opportunities to grow sales both within and outside of our region.  This role performs a variety of tasks to initiate and coordinate the efficient flow of sales within Sign Solutions.  The Sales Specialist must initiate and establish relationships with a positive and self-assured demeanor, have both a hands-on knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office applications and a working familiarity of Enterprise resource Planning (ERP) systems.  Maintains a positive attitude towards co-workers, customers, and suppliers.  The Sales Specialist must show up “Ready to Play” every day.  This position requires the ability to contribute to a group/team setting and can work extended hours and travel when necessary to meet the demands of the business. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop and maintain sales relationships with both vendors and customers
  2. Drive and grow sales strategies to increase sales and customer base
  3. Meet and exceed all expectations and goals
  4. Manage inventory counts & transactions
  5. Invoice and manage accounts receivable
  6. Drive retail sales including preparing estimates for all products
  7. Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient flow and order management
  8. Prepare freight estimations and secure appropriate shipping logistics
  9. Administer contracts for customers and suppliers
  10. Conduct and keep track of customer and prospect visits and product demonstrations
  11. Prepare sales and travel reports
  12. Set up, attend, and exhibit at trade shows/conventions
  13. Present a knowledgeable, professional, and confident demeanor
  14. Works within safety guidelines at all times
  15. Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

BS or AS degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Construction Management or related field from an accredited college is desired.  Minimum five (5) years of directly related experience is a plus.

Experience and Skills Required:

  1. Working knowledge of construction and sales/marketing processes
  2. Working knowledge of inventory management processes
  3. Working knowledge of bid documents & contracts
  4. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with particular emphasis on Excel
  5. Working knowledge of ERP systems & computer networks
  6. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and have good overall interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
